About
James Gooden a proud product of the Riverina, having grown up in a grazing and farming family along the Yanko Creek in the western Riverina. Now a grazier in the eastern Riverina, James’s journey in agriculture began early, shaped by family circumstances. After leaving school, he stepped up to take on significant responsibilities following a tragic accident involving his father, developing the strong work ethic and resilience that define him today.
James is supported in all areas of life by his wife, Helen, a proud local of Junee. Helen is his trusted partner in their farming and grazing business. Together, they are raising their three children (Kate, John, and Alex) with the same values of hard work, community connection, and care for the land.
A passionate advocate for the Riverina, James has taken on key leadership roles within the region. As a founding member and former Chair of the Riverina Sustainable Food Alliance (RSFA), James has been instrumental in championing the protection of productive agricultural land, sustainable farming practices, and environmental heritage.
